Product Description
Types of box-type substations in Europe and the U.S.:
(1) Assembly type substations. Assembly type substations place the pre-assembled high and low voltage units and transformers into metal boxes, leaving operation corridors between the high and low voltage distribution equipment. This type of box-type substation has a relatively large volume and is less commonly used.
(2) Combination device type substations. Combination device type substations do not use existing pre-assembled units for high and low voltage distribution equipment, but directly install high and low voltage control and protection devices into the boxes to form an integral whole. Since the overall design considers maintenance-free, there is no need for operation corridors inside the boxes. This can reduce the volume of box-type substations, and this type is the European style box substation, which is the type commonly adopted.
(3) Integrated type substations. Integrated type substations are the so-called American box substations. Based on simplifying the high and low voltage control and protection devices, the high and low voltage distribution equipment and transformer body are installed together into the transformer oil tank to form an integral whole. This type of box-type substation has an even smaller volume, close to that of an ordinary transformer of the same capacity. It is only about 1/3 of the volume of a European-style box substation of the same capacity.

The incoming line can be cable line or insulated overhead line, freely choosing according to the use environment and different purposes. When used as a public box-type substation, the number of low voltage outgoing lines of the box-type substation depends on the capacity of the transformer, generally not exceeding 4 circuits, and at most not exceeding 6 circuits. A single outgoing line can also be used to the nearby distribution room for further power supply distribution. When used as an independent user box-type substation, one-line power supply can be adopted.
